Privacy policy

Twala Steel Head ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it and how we protect it, as required by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Who is responsible

What we collect

When you send the quote form, we collect only what we need to reply and prepare a quote:

• your name, phone number and, if you give it, your email address
• your suburb or town, the service you need and your description of the job
• any photos or plans you choose to upload
• how you would like us to contact you

To protect the form from spam and abuse, we also keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your internet address for one hour, and Cloudflare Turnstile checks that the form is sent by a person. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share your information for marketing.

How we use it

• to contact you about your enquiry and give you a quote
• to plan, carry out and follow up on work you ask us to do
• to keep basic records of enquiries and work done

We use your information only with your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, or where we need it to do work you asked for.

Who processes it for us

We use a small number of trusted service providers, who may only use your information to provide their service to us:

• Cloudflare, which hosts this website, runs the spam check and stores enquiries and uploaded files securely
• Resend, which delivers the enquiry to our email inbox
• Google, which provides our email inbox, and Google Maps if you choose to load the map

Some of these providers store information outside South Africa. They are bound by data protection terms that give protection similar to POPIA.

How long we keep it

Enquiries and uploaded files are deleted automatically 12 months after you send them, unless we are doing work for you and need them for our records, in which case we keep them only as long as the law or the job requires.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Enquiries and files are stored in private storage that is not reachable from the internet, and only Twala Steel Head can see them.

Your rights

You may ask us at any time to:

• tell you what personal information we hold about you
• correct or delete it
• stop using it, or withdraw your consent
